AltaAPI
Application Programming Interface
Alta’s 1553 and ARINC cards include the most advanced Application Programming Interface (API) library tools in the avionics industry, AltaAPI. The API architecture is an extremely flexible design to provide quick porting to various operating systems (such as VxWorks 5.5/6.5/MILS, Integrity, LynxOS RTOS), Linux 2.6 32/64, Solaris 10, LabVIEW and Windows XP/2003 and Vista.
AltaAPI is designed to meet various application requirements - and to provide fast integration (with over 80 sample programs).
When first starting development, the design engineer may want a Linux or Windows application for test verification. Then the application may need to move to an RTOS, such as VxWorks, for deployment.
