Home / Article / How are Alta products used in a VxWorks memory-mapping scheme ?

The Alta PCI-based products have been mapped into the VxWorks PCI space by many of our customers. No formal VxWorks “driver” is required and is not provided.

In general, each board requires 512 Bytes of PCI BAR0 address space and 8MB of PCI BAR2 address space.
Note that the addresses and memory size must be aligned to the page size.

Using VxWorks PCI utilities to scan the PCI bus provides the user with the VxWorks-assigned BAR0 and BAR2 addresses.
These addresses provide the basis for the memory offset to the card used by the functions of the ADT API.

For detailed information on using VxWorks with the Alta API, refer to Appendix C of https://www.altadt.com/ReleaseDownloads/AltaAPI%20Users%20Manual.pdf
